Georgie and Willow were volunteered today to help show off our little Christmas corner which is building up here at #broxbournevetcentre 🎄 📸

This Christmas we have decided to try and raise some veterinary care funds for a local animal rescue #cheshuntanimalrescue 🐱 🐶 🐦

We see many of their rescues and do our best to treat them, but as always charities do rely on donations to fund essential treatments. 🫶

We have set up a little Christmas corner and in return for any donations made we are very happy to help you take some cute Christmas photos of your furry friend! We really appreciate any donations as they help us continue to help unfortunate animals in need.

Little Bobby the kitten came to see us recently for a badly injured eye. At only a few months old he’s already had a tough life and sadly needed an emergency eye removal surgery. This is one of the many procedures the charity is having to raise funds for recently.

Bob came in for an eyelid tumour removal surgery. The procedure went well and here is Bob sleeping off his anaesthetic 😴

We have sent the tumour away for analysis and hope for a good result, please keep your fingers crossed for Bob! 🤞

✨ Eyelid Tumours in Dogs — What You Should Know ✨

Eyelid lumps are one of the most common eye problems we see in dogs. Most eyelid tumours are benign, but they can still cause irritation, inflammation, or damage to the surface of the eye if left untreated.

👁️ Common signs include:
• A lump or growth on the eyelid
• Redness or irritation
• Excessive blinking or rubbing
• Discharge or watery eyes

🐾 When to see your vet:
If you notice any new lump on your dog’s eyelid, it’s always best to have it checked early. Small tumours are easier to remove and less likely to cause long-term discomfort or corneal injury.

💛 Good news:
Most eyelid tumours can be treated effectively and dogs typically recover very quickly!
